Is Your Forest Working for You?

If you're like most people who own forestland, regardless of the size, you know the sense of pride you gain from your land. But is your forest working for you? The benefits can be many, if you know how to manage for them.

How do you view your forest? Is it your home, a getaway, or a nest egg just waiting to hatch? Would you like to increase your land value or improve its usefulness? A lot can be done with forestland; it just needs to be managed like any other investment.

Let the North Carolina Forest Service help you develop a Forest Stewardship Plan or a Forest Management Plan that will allow you to manage all of the natural resources on your property. Our services for this assistance are free of charge. All you have to do is ask us. We want to help you.

As a forest landowner, it is important that you work with not only a forest management professional, but also someone who cares for your land as much as you do, to get the maximum benefit from your property. As trained experts in forest resource management we can help you do just that. We would like to help you develop a long-range, flexible forest management plan that will allow you to achieve what ever it is that you want to get out of your land; timber, wildlife, water quality, aesthetics, etc.

We will meet with you on your property and together we will discuss your specific goals. What is it that you want to manage? Your residence, an estate for your children? What would you like to improve? The appearance, financial opportunities, or future home site? Sound confusing? Our folks can help you decide what's possible and fits your needs. There is no charge or obligation when you call, so what are you waiting for?

If you would like more information on how to do this, contact your county forest ranger or call our central office at (919) 857-4801.
