Woodland Plan Fees

The NC Forest Service has been dedicated to the protection, conservation and stewardship of North Carolina’s forests for nearly a century. Our Agency offers a wide variety of forest management programs and services that can help landowners become more knowledgeable about their woods as well as their options. NC Forest Service Foresters and Rangers can work one-on-one with landowners to prepare a woodland plan that is tailored to your unique management goals and property. Effective August 1, 2016, the fees associated with the preparation of NCFS-written woodland plans are as follows:

Plan type Fee per acre
  • Forest Management Plan
  • Forest Stewardship Plan
$5.00

NOTE: There are no fees associated with most of the other management plans that the NCFS provides to landowners. This includes Forest Practice plans that provide guidance on practices such as: Site Preparation, Tree Planting, Prescribed Burning, Thinning and Final Harvest. For more information, please contact your local County Forest Ranger.
