Grant Applicants must download the following forms for the 2017 application process:

All applications must include: Data Universal Number System (DUNS)

The federal government has adopted the use of DUNS numbers to track how federal grant money is allocated. All grantees are required to have a DUNS number to receive grant funds from the U&CF grant program. If your organization does not have a DUNS number, visit Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) website (D&B) website to obtain one. Be aware that the preferred browser for D&B is Internet Explorer 7, 8 or 9; DO NOT USE: Chrome, Firefox or Edge.

Register Your DUNS Number in the System for Award Management (SAM): To receive grant funds, your organization’s DUNS number must also be currently active in SAM. To register or yearly update your organization in SAM, visit their web site .

Project proposals must have:

  • Clearly stated goals
  • Well-thought-out budgets, and
  • Well-planned scheduling

Project proposals should be benefit the community as a whole:

  • Utilizing volunteers and/or creating local partnerships
  • Promoting development of local community forestry programs
  • With long-term focus and benefits
  • And/or with an educational or technology transfer component

The U&CF Grant Program is designed to support new and innovative initiatives or expand existing programs that would not occur without grant funds. It is not intended to substitute for current funding levels.
