Ralph Winkworth Forestry Center
Located at the Kinston Regional Jetport, the Ralph Winkworth Training Facility features recently upgraded classroom and lodging facilities, including a state-of-the-art multimedia system. While at the facility, visitors can view the NCFS's coastal fleet of fire-fighting aircraft.
Lodging
The training center contains three on-site dormitories with a maximum occupancy of 84 persons in a mixture of double and single rooms. Each dormitory has a common shower and restroom facility and central heating and air conditioning. Bedding linens are provided by the facility and each building is also equipped with high-speed wireless internet access.
Classrooms & Training Features
There is a main classroom with integrated audio-visual equipment including computer-controlled overhead LCD projector, document camera, DVD/VCR, and satellite monitors for easy viewing throughout the room, which can seat up to 60 students comfortably. Three additional classrooms can seat between 40 and 25 students with available portable audio-visual equipment. All classrooms have both wireless and wired internet access.

Additional training features at the facility include a non-certified low ropes course used in a variety of team-building and leadership exercises.
Dining hall.
Recreation equipment includes a table tennis and pool table, as well as an assortment of televisions and DVD/VCR players with satellite service. The facility is within three miles of a par-3 golf course and a walking trail. Entertainment opportunities in the city of Kinston includes Kinston Indians minor league baseball during the summer months and local movie theaters, a bowling alley and skating rink.
Dining
The facility features a dining hall with buffet style accomodations capable of serving up to 100 people, and meeting ServSafe specifications and all state Health Department regulations. Special dietary needs can be fulfilled upon request.
