2015 NCFS Centennial Celebration
RALEIGH � On August 25, 2015 a public ceremony was held at Clemmons Educational State Forest to mark the centennial of the North Carolina Forest Service. NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Steve Troxler presented a proclamation issued by Governor Pat McCrory recognizing 100 years of NCFS service to the people of North Carolina.
The General Assembly created the N.C. Forest Service in 1915, appointing John Simcox Holmes as the first State Forester.
